Residents and the care team at Hatton Grange care home in Hyde, which is part of Anchor Hanover, are celebrating after the group won Large Residential Care Provider of the Year at the LaingBuisson Awards.
The awards honour and celebrate industry excellence in the UK health and social care services within public, private and third sectors.
Anchor Hanover, England’s largest not-for-profit provider of housing and care for people in later life, was recognised nationally for its excellence in providing residential care for older people and its focus on innovation and engagement with residents.
It is the second consecutive year that Anchor Hanover has received the accolade.
The judges cited Anchor Hanover’s use of Memoride, a virtual cycling platform for older people, in their decision.
They said: “The Memoride, a pedal exerciser which generates an image of a town onto a screen using Google Maps, is simple yet effective to taking people ‘out.’ The business outcome and service users outcome is remarkable.”
Anchor Hanover’s Director of Care Quality, Cath Holmes said: “We are absolutely delighted to have won. The last year has been a challenging time for everyone and our colleagues have worked tirelessly to ensure residents continue to receive the highest levels of care throughout the pandemic, so we are delighted that their work has been recognised.”
