At their Halloween meeting, members of Sailors Beware, the Hyde branch of the Laurel & Hardy club Sons of the Desert, made a special presentation. Using funds raised throughout the year, the group donated £200 to Mentell, a UK charity that offers support circles for men aged 18 and over. Mentell provides a safe and confidential space, free from advice or judgement, where men can openly discuss issues affecting their lives.
Currently, Mentell runs a support group at the Grafton Centre in Hyde, offering local men a chance to connect and share their experiences.
The next Sailors Beware meeting will be held at The Cheshire Ring on Thursday, November 28, with a curry night planned for December at Adnans in Hyde.
