Former West Hill School pupil Rob Holding marked his return to the Arsenal squad with a goal in the 5-0 victory over Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday.
Holding, 24, scored the second goal in the Gunners' comprehensive win against the Championship outfit at the Emirates Stadium.
It was a moment of joy for the centre back, who has endured a nightmare 10 months on the sidelines after sustaining a knee injury against Manchester United at Old Trafford in a Premier League fixture last season.
Holding, from Stalybridge, will now be looking to establish himself as a first team starter under manager Unai Emerey, as the Gunners look to make a charge on the Premier League title this season. They return to action next Monday (30th) with a trip to Old Trafford to take on Ole Gunner Solksjaer's downbeat United, who suffered a 2-0 defeat at West Ham United last weekend and are now preparing to face Rochdale in the Carabao Cup tonight (Wednesday).
