Andrew Gwynne, MP for Gorton & Denton, has awarded his first Citizens Award since his election last week, to long time Denton trader Paz Chohan, alongside Denton North-East Cllr Allison Gwynne.
Paz has been trading in Denton for 38 years, firstly at Denton Market and latterly at his shop on the Civic Square and closed his doors for the final time today.
He was nominated by local resident Carol Stewart in recognition of his years of service to the community.
Andrew Gwynne said: “It was a pleasure to recognise Paz’s 38 years of service to our local community by presenting him with a Citizens’ Award.
“Paz has become an institution in Denton, and we will all miss his kindness and friendship.
“I wish Paz all the very best as a great era comes to a close, and I’m sure he will be missed by many across Denton.”
