Greswell bowl over the competition to book place in Lancashire Finals

Greswell Primary School, Denton, will represent the borough at the Lancashire Cricket Finals after winning the Tameside competition.

Year five and six pupils from a number of schools battled it out on Tuesday afternoon at Dukinfield Cricket Club to secure a place in the Lancashire Finals.

A fiercely contested event ended with a nail-biting finale between Russell Scott, Denton, and Greswell. The latter, coached by Joe Bevan, edged their way to victory by just four runs.

Following the competition, we spoke to Bevan about the school's success and his memorable season at Avro FC.
