The Mayor of Greater Manchester paid a visit to Droylsden Academy for afternoon tea and discussed a range of topics with a group of Year 9 students.
During the meeting last Wednesday (22 June), Andy Burnham was asked a variety of questions on topics ranging from climate change to funding for mental health and the cost of living.
As well as talking about Manchester today, Mr Burnham - a former government minister - also led a discussion about how he got into politics and why he loves being the Mayor.
A spokesperson for the Manor Road school said: "While everyone learnt a lot about politics and really enjoyed talking to Mr Burnham, our students were a little less enamoured with his taste in music or by the allegiance to his favourite football team!
"Thank you for visiting our school Mr Burnham, it was great to meet you and we all had an afternoon that we will never forget."
The students said they really enjoyed Mr Burnham's visit and learning about his work. One even said they were inspired to become a politician in the future.
