Dating back to 1531, Denton's famous black and white church St Lawrence's was the perfect setting for a local history exhibition.
Last week, the church played host to the Local History Society’s latest display on the theme Denton Shops of Yesteryear.
Photographs, artefacts and memorabilia from the society’s collection took visitors back to a time when butchers, bakers, grocers, greengrocers, drapers and tobacconists - all mostly long established family businesses were among the many and varied retailers plying their wares on the high street.
