Glastonbury favourite to play intimate Mossley gig

He's played Glastonbury every year since 2007 and now he's coming to Mossley for a special intimate gig.

Beans on Toast, that is the musician, not the popular easy meal, will be at The Vale on Saturday 2 December 2023.

For fans, the timing of the gig couldn't be more perfect as it's the day after the release of his 16th studio album, called The Toothpaste and The Tube.

Beans AKA Jay McAllister is an Essex born folk singer and songwriter, who has toured with the likes of Frank Turner, Kate Nash and Skinny Lister.

His first album, 2009's 50-track epic Standing On A Chair was produced by Ben Lovett of Mumford & Sons and featured guest vocals by Emmy The Great and Frank Turner amongst others.

Beans has continued to put out an album every single year on the first day of December - which is his birthday.

Known for extensive touring as well as his regular album schedule, Beans is returning to the UK this winter after a US tour which includes dates in Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle, New York and Miami.

Johnny Clifford, programming manager, The Vale, said: "Beans on Toast is a critically acclaimed and well loved artist with scores of devoted fans.

"Like a modern-day minstrel, captivating hearts and minds with his tales of love, politics and the human experience, Beans is unafraid to challenge the status quo with his irreverent wit and soul-stirring lyricism.

"We will be honoured to welcome to The Vale the day after the release of his 16th studio album and are all looking forward to what is bound to be a stunning performance."
