A young girl sustained a serious head injury in a collision on a main road in Ashton on Tuesday afternoon (18 October).
Greater Manchester Police said they were called at 3.30pm to a report of a collision between a car and a pedestrian on Cavendish Street.
North West Ambulance Service said paramedics took the girl to hospital with a serious head injury by ambulance.
The road was closed for around an hour in both directions, leading to heavy congestion in the area.
The collision is understood to have happened at the pedestrian crossing near Asda.
