Rayner Stephens High School is celebrating a landmark year of success after students achieved the school’s best-ever GCSE results.
This summer has seen a sharp rise in the number of pupils securing strong passes in both English and Maths, alongside a significant increase in the proportion of higher grades across a wide range of subjects. Notably, the school recorded its highest number of top grade 9s in history – a milestone that staff say reflects the ambition, resilience and hard work of this year’s cohort.
Head of School Martin Davies praised the achievements of students, staff, and families alike. He said: “I am incredibly proud of all our students and the hard work they have put into their studies. This year’s results represent another hugely positive step forward for our school and highlight the ambition we have for every young person here at Rayner Stephens. Our vision is that every student leaves with a strong set of GCSE results and the skills and confidence to go on to successful futures, and these achievements show how committed we are to that vision being realised.”
While every student is being celebrated, the school highlighted the remarkable success of several individuals. Among them were Maryam Dabbagh, who achieved three grade 9s and five grade 8s, Abdia Sadik, with two grade 9s and six 8s, Iman Adnan, who secured four grade 9s, three 8s and a 7, and Denzel Samuel, who earned one grade 9, five grade 8s and two grade 7s.
The school also acknowledged the vital role played by parents, carers, and the wider community, whose encouragement and support have helped students reach their potential. Staff were also praised for their tireless dedication, guidance and inspiration throughout the students’ journeys.
With this year’s results marking another step forward in the school’s ongoing improvement, Rayner Stephens is celebrating one of the strongest years in its history – and looking forward to building on this success in the future.
