Fundraiser moved to help by youngster's brave story

WONDERFUL EFFORT: Little Ella and her mum with Angie at the fabulous fundraiser.

Dedicated fundraiser Angie Wild was determined to help raise awareness and funds after meeting brave Ashton youngster Ella Cooper.

Ella suffers from a rare developmental disorder known as Wiedemann-Steiner Syndrome. For Ella, this means she faces many daily struggles, including tiring easy and struggling to walk.

Her fundraising efforts on behalf of the charity The National Wiedemann-Steiner Syndrome Warriors have regularly made our pages.

Angie was so moved by her story that she was determined to run a fundraiser of her own on Ella and the charity’s behalf.

“I met Ella at a charity football match a couple of months ago and she just stole my heart,” said Angie.

She found out more about Ella’s condition from her mum Kay and immediately planned a fundraising event.

That was staged on Saturday at the Guide Bridge Conservative Club and consisted of a fabulous afternoon of fun and music.

Singer Maddison Peacock and DJ Paul Eden gave up their time to make the afternoon extra special.

There were delicious goodies for everyone from Jess and her Sweets ‘n’ Treats, plus a special visit from Ashton Watch firemen who also know Ella well - the youngster’s favourite character being Fireman Sam.

A fabulous sum of £635 was raised in total with donations still coming in.

Kay called Angie ‘an angel’ for her help.

“I can not believe what you have achieved and done for Ella and The National Wiedemann-Steiner Syndrome Warriors - I am still taking it all in. You are an amazing lady and thank you from the bottom of my heart,” she said.
