The Friends of the Tame Valley are holding a volunteer day this weekend and are encouraging locals to get involved.
It's on Sunday (22 August) and will involve Balsam bashing, litter picking, riverbank tidying and some woodland management.
No experience is required, and full training will be given.
The group is hoping to be joined by Mersey Rivers Trust volunteers too.
Everyone is welcome and you can meet at 10.30am at the St Anne's Road entrance to the valley in Denton.
