Flanagan returns to Mossley

Former Mossley manager John Flanagan has returned to the club as part of Dave Wild's backroom staff.

Flanagan joins the club with a wealth of experience, having enjoyed a successful eight-year spell with Curzon Ashton. During his time at the Tameside Stadium, Flanagan took the Nash to their highest ever league standing after embarking on a rise from the Evo-Stik First Division North to the National League North.

A fans' favourite, Flanagan also guided the club to the FA Cup second round in 2016 which, in turn, generated more than £150,000 in the process. His time in charge came to an abrupt and somewhat surprising end in December 2018 after a poor run of form.

He has since been absent from the dugout despite rumours of interest from York City and Darlington amongst others.

Mossley are back in pre-season action at Denton Town's Whittle Park on Saturday. Kick-off 2pm.
