Family fun at Stalybridge fire station

There was plenty of fun and games on offer when Stalybridge Fire Station hosted their annual open day.

The crowds turned out to enjoy the free family day out.

The event saw demonstrations carried out by the firefighters as well as St John’s Ambulance, who were also in attendance.

Children could climb aboard an array of fire engines and even use one of their hoses or slide down the helter skelter.

There were also stalls with sweets and hot food available, face painting, a bouncy castle, plus a visit from the Peak District moorland group, who spoke of the dangers of moorland fires.

Tameside Radio was also in attendance and spoke to firefighers and visitors throughout the day.

All funds raised from the event were donated to Ruddi’s Retreat - which provides holidays for families dealing with life-limiting illnesses and children affected by bereavement - and the Firefighters Charity.
