Stalybridge Armentieres Square became a stage for dancers and singers last Friday (November 26).
Students from the Sarah England School of Dance performed a song from the musical Cats and other ensembles.
They entertained the crowds until the Christmas light switch-on at 6.00pm.
A tree made entirely of fairy lights took centre stage with fairground rides set up around it, before Father Christmas arrived on the scene.
He stopped to shake hands and speak to the children, spreading some festive magic within the community.
Families then went on to enjoy hot food and drink and soak up the holiday atmosphere.
