Students from Tameside College and Clarendon Sixth Form College gained valuable insights into the world of work last week at the recent Careers & Employability Events, which brought together a wide range of employers from across the region.
The events gave learners the chance to engage directly with industry representatives, discuss potential career paths, and explore opportunities across multiple sectors. Employers shared information about roles, training, and the skills they look for, helping students better understand the realities of their chosen fields.
Attendees also learned more about the colleges’ Industry Placement and Work Experience Programme, as well as T-Levels and other career-focused qualifications. The sessions proved equally valuable for visiting professionals, who were able to network and exchange good practice with colleagues from other organisations.
The events were praised for bridging the gap between education and employment, inspiring the next generation of skilled professionals across Tameside.
We went along to find out more and our work experience Student Freyah-Mae Hesford spoke to a variety of students.....
