Pupils at Dukinfield's Lyndhurst Primary 'hopped to it' to raise more than £2,200 for Willow Wood Hospice.
The school supported the Ashton-based hospice’s call to join in its Easter Willow Wood Bunny Hop event this year.
All of the pupils participated in the sponsored hop, encouraged to hop, skip or jump around their playground.
In return the hospice provided each child with a set of bunny ears, a certificate of thanks, and a Cadbury’s Creme Egg to show how much their support was appreciated.
The hospice suggested a £1.50 donation from each child but Lyndhurst leapt well ahead of that to raise a fantastic £2,259.04 for the hospice.
Woody the Willow Wood Mascot Bear visited the school to thank pupils personally at a special assembly on Friday.
Willow Wood event organiser Laura Marinelli was also at the school to say thank you and receive the cheque.
She said: “We’re very grateful to Lyndhurst Community Primary for raising such an amazing sum, and so pleased that the pupils had a good time taking part in the Bunny Hop. Both myself and mascot Woody really enjoyed meeting them last week.
“The Bunny Hop has been another fantastic fundraiser for Willow Wood and although there are some donations still to collect, we’re looking at having raised around £40,000 once again and cannot stress just how much we appreciate all the schools, organisations and individuals who took part.”
