A man has been charged in connection with the bomb hoax in Dukinfield yesterday.
Meysam Kordi, 33, from Birch Street, Dukinfield has been charged with bomb hoax and malicious communications and will appear at Manchester Magistrates Court tomorrow (Saturday 18 January 2020).
Police confirmed that a device "was assesed and deemed safe" by the bomb disposal unit at the property.
Businesses and homes near to the junction of Dewsnap Lane, Birch Lane and Kenyon Avenue were evacuated. A cordon was put in place on Birch Lane, from the junction at the top Dewsnap Lane to the junction at Cheetham Hill Road.
