Dukinfield community project leaping into Christmas

There was a blooming great event in Dukinfield when a community project welcomed visitors to its site.

The LEAP Community Green Allotment project on Meadow Lane held a festive morning with mulled wine, an open fire, marshmallow toasting and carol singing to warm everyone up.

The allotment has been transformed from rubble and weeds into a fantastic useable space for growing, learning, playing and having fun.

The site, based near Morrisons, is a therapeutic horticulture project to boost the well-being of residents.

It offers a variety of sessions from craft, growing, gardening, woodwork, forest school and much more.

The allotment is fully accessible and provides opportunities for everyone to get closer to nature, improve health, well-being, make friends and learn new skills.

If anyone would like to volunteer to help develop the LEAP Community Green project, see what they do or find out about the sessions, contact them at Leap@Leapcfc.org or call 0161 214 8300.
