A Denton Community College teacher has been honoured by her local MP after helping in the fight against coronavirus.
Denton and Reddish MP Andrew Gwynne presented Paula Arkinstall with one of his Citizen’s Awards after she single-handedly made more than 500 visors for NHS staff and key workers.
Her efforts helped keep them safe on the frontlines of the fight against the virus.
She used evenings and weekends to make the visors, as well as continuing her day job as a teacher at the school.
The MP, who presented her with the award outside the school, said: “There is no doubt that her heroic contributions have saved lives. Paula is a superhero.”
