The Tameside Radio presenter writes about a fundraising event in Stalybridge he'll be hosting next week.
Next Friday (18 November) I’ll be at The New Stalybridge Labour Club hosting this year’s ‘Rock The Foodbank’ fundraising event.
Put together by Sam Gosling, who promotes live events at Stalybridge bar ‘Zeros’ with his Stylish Riot club night, it’s a night packed with new and unsigned local music, all in aid of local foodbank ‘Barty’s’.
Every penny raised on the night will go directly to the Barty’s Food Bank appeal, and following on from the success of previous years events, this year’s line up is as strong as ever.
Local band Freeda will be headlining the event, with support from New Revolution, who are a crowd favourite at Zeros Bar, The Kurbs, Plastic Heart, Judas Smith, Jacob Reddy, and a special appearance from former Scuttlers frontman Kaiden Nolan. He promises to be playing some crowd favourites of his, as well as a selection of his new material.
The event starts at 5pm, and live music will continue until midnight. Advance tickets are £10 each and are on sale on skiddle by searching ‘Rock The Foodbank’ or any of the artists names.
The night will be followed by an afterparty at Zeros Bar in Stalybridge hosted by Sam himself.
More information on the gig can be found across social media by searching stylishriotltd. It’s not only a great event raising much needed funds for a great local cause, it’s also a good chance to come along, watch, and support some brilliant new music from the local area.
I’m really looking forward to hosting this year’s event, and really looking forward to seeing lots of local music fans at The New Stalybridge Labour Club when Rock The Foodbank takes place a week on Friday.
