Crime File: Alleged face slasher remanded

An alleged knifeman has been remanded in custody after being charged with three counts of actual bodily harm.

Connor Dillon, 26, from Ashton, will appear before Minshull Street Crown Court on Monday March 31 after a disturbance at the Beehive Inn in Droylsden where three men were slashed across the face.

A statement from GMP said of the incident, which took place on Saturday March 1: “The police licensing officer and Tameside Council licensing department are working with the brewery to ensure people can enjoy a night out and feel safe within our licensed premises in Tameside.”

Elsewhere in Tameside, following a burglary on Priory Close in Dukinfield on New Year’s Eve, 52-year-old Martin White, from Ashley Street, Hyde, will go before magistrates charged with burglary and possession of Class A and B drugs.

Police have also asked residents to be alert after an attempted burglary in Ashton last night (Saturday March 8).

An offender – or offenders – attempted to kick a front door down on Salisbury Crescent before realising the residents were sitting in the living room.

PCSO Ryan Chadwick from the Tameside North Neighbourhood Team said: “The offenders will have to have either passed the junctions of Truro Avenue or Exeter Drive when making off or may have gone done these streets.

“Please can I ask residents to check their CCTV footage for any footage of these offenders either approaching the area or leaving the area.”
