The PTSD Bee

A lego bee sculptured in Tameside will be creating a buzz at a summer event next month.

The bee, created by Paul Mather, will be on display at Unsworth Cricket Club's Summer Fun Day.

Paul's lego bee sculpture was inspired by the iconic Manchester bee, the emblem reimagined to represent the silent struggles of those living with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Entitled 'The PTSD Bee' it will travel from Tameside to Unsworth Cricket Club, especially for the fun day.

The Summer Fun Day is taking place at Unsworth Cricket Club on Sunday, August 24th, 2025, from 12PM to 6PM. With free entry for all, this event promises a joyful afternoon packed with entertainment, family-friendly activities, and a heartfelt cause.

Highlights include a funfair, donkeys, loads of stalls, children’s games, and bouncy castles, guaranteed to keep kids entertained for hours. Animal lovers can enjoy the dog show, and the venue is equipped with dog-friendly facilities, making it a perfect outing for your four-legged friends.

But the day is more than just fun, it’s about raising awareness and support for important causes. This year, proceeds from the event will go to Mind, the mental health charity.
