Homeless initiative Sandwich Angels are holding their free Christmas Shindig, Fun Fair and Santa’s Grotto on Saturday.
The event runs from 11am until 4pm at The United Church (pictured) on Union Street, with performances from Tameside Radio’s very own Scott Bruton.
Brian Howard of Sandwich Angels said the group was worried they wouldn’t have any gifts to give children visiting the grotto, but a ‘lovely surprise’ from Jenna of Bee the Best came to the rescue, donating 25 presents.
“We are overwhelmed and delighted,” he added.
If visitors would like to donate pot noodles or a tin of meat to the cause, it would be more than welcome.
