A passerby discovered a haul of cannabis discarded close to the canal in Dukinfield, police have revealed.
The plants were found wrapped in bedding.
A police spokesman said: "We thank the member of the public who informed us of all the cannabis wrapped in bedding, dumped on the canal in Dukinfield.
"We have some unanswered questions here, but enquires will be made to find out who dumped this.
"If you have any information that could assist us with our enquires, please do get in touch with your local neighbourhood team by calling 101."
