An Ashton-under-Lyne based solicitors have raised more than £300 to help care leavers in Tameside have an enjoyable Christmas this year.
Bromleys Solicitors ran a hamper raffle on Monday with proceeds going towards the Tameside Care Leavers Christmas Lunch, which takes place on December 21.
The money raised will help towards creating a wonderful festive themed room at the Broadoak Community Centre along with a delicious meal. Each of the young people who attend will receive individual gifts and advent calendars.
Event organisers, Neil Radford from Staying Close-Partnership and Engagement Officer and Rick Morris, Project Manager at Tameside MBC, said: “Bromleys’ very kind donation has contributed to providing a generous selection of Christmas gifts and a Christmas meal for over 50 care leavers later this week.
“The Christmas meal takes place at Broadoak Community Centre and it is a staple on the care leaver’ calendar. It is both well attended and really enjoyed by all and the room is well decorated and the food magnificent. This donation has given the young people a time to be able to relax in what can be a challenging time of year for many. We are extremely grateful for all the support given.”
The generous act will help to make a positive difference to young people’s lives within the community. There are approximately 400 young people needing support, especially at such an emotionally challenging time this Christmas.
