Police are appealing for information following anti-social behaviour at a property on Droylsden Road in Audenshaw.
Officers were called to the property at around midnight this morning (14/07/2024) after reports came in that a large group of youths were gathered at the house causing a disturbance.
The group is reported to have begun fighting and caused criminal damage to a number of cars in the area. Fortunately no injuries have been reported.
Officers arrived on scene, dispersed the group and a 17-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence. He remains in custody.
Under Section 35 of the Anti-Social Behaviour Act, a dispersal order was put in place at 12:15am. The order gives officers temporary extended powers to remove individuals from an area if they are suspected of engaging in anti-social behaviour.
Chief Inspector Dave Henthorne said: “This was an alarming incident for many residents in the area. The scenes of violence, disorder and criminal damage last night are totally unacceptable and it is very fortunate that no one was seriously hurt. Violence has no place on our streets or in our communities and we are determined to hold those responsible to account.
“Officers will remain in the area for reassurance and if you have any concerns or information to share, I would urge you to speak with them.
“If you witnessed this incident, or have relevant footage – including CCTV, mobile or dashcam – you should report it by emailing TamesideSouth@gmp.police.uk or calling 101 quoting incident number 3628 of 13/7/24.”
