Police were called to Stalybridge Train Station today (8 May) after the discovery of a body close to the tracks.
It happened just before 12:30pm when they were called to the station on Market Street. Officers attended the scene alongside paramedics but the person was pronounced dead at the scene.
The British Transport Police confirmed that an investigation has now been opened to determine how the person came to be there
