
Greater Manchester Police have found a body during the search for a man who was last seen over 48 hours ago.
Richard Thornton’s family and friends have been appealing on social media to help locate Richard since he was last seen in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Mr Thornton was picked up by a taxi just before 5am on Saturday 13th September, shown on doorbell footage.
The taxi left an address in the Werneth Low area in Hyde after picking Richard up.
Crimewatchers Security also issued an appeal on social media on behalf of the family
In a statement Greater Manchester Police said: “We can confirm that the body of who we believe to be a missing man, Richard Thornton, has sadly been found deceased this morning off Mottram Old Road, Hyde.
“Richard was reported missing to us on Saturday and enquiries had been ongoing since to locate him.
“Formal identification is yet to take place, however Richard’s family have been informed of this update and are being supported by specially trained officers.
“There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding Richard’s death, and a file will be passed to the coroner.”
