Today, Thursday 17 August, hundreds of students across the country received their A-Level, T-Level and BTEC results. Months of studying, exams and waiting have led to this day and with tough competition for university places, every mark counts.
Ashton Sixth Form College (ASFC) once again celebrated a fantastic set of A-Level results with an overall pass rate of 97 per cent for A-Levels and 100 per across all vocational courses.
Top A-Level results in England, Wales and Northern Ireland have fallen from last year with 27.2 per cent of all entries being awarded an A or A*.
However, the percentage of students at ASFC achieving the highest grades increased, with half of all A-Level subjects being graded A*-B and an impressive 4 out of 5 vocational subjects graded A*-C.
These results have been achieved despite the significant disruption to learning over the last three years due to the Covid pandemic.
In this year of return to formally examined assessments, ASFC continued to maintain impressive outcomes for its students with the vast majority progressing on to their chosen destinations.

We should not forget that this cohort were unable to sit their final GCSE examinations and have sat their A Levels and vocational qualifications without any concessions, making their achievements even more impressive and well-deserved.
"Our leavers have made a fabulous contribution to college over the past two years and they have great potential for a lifetime of success. I wish them the very best as they progress onto their chosen next steps, be that university or an apprenticeship or job with further training."
