Ashton law firm wins prestigious award for "remarkable work"

An Ashton-based law firm has been named Small Law Firm of the Year at this year's Manchester Legal Awards.

The award recognises the "remarkable work" done by Bromleys Solicitors across a range of private and legal aid work, as a small firm (1-5 partners).

Held on June 6, at The Midland Hotel, the Manchester Legal Awards 2024 celebrated more than 81 firms and individuals who shortlisted in a total of 21 categories.

Speaking of their win, managing partner Paul Westwell, said: “The recognition by the judges of the strength and depth of our people and the quality work we undertake, in such a competitive category, is truly amazing.”

Launched by the Manchester Law Society in 2010, the Manchester Legal Awards celebrate the best and brightest legal talent across Greater Manchester. Categories cover all areas of law and include individual, team and firmwide awards.

Fran Eccles-Bech, chief executive of the Manchester Law Society & event organiser of the Awards, said: “Year after year, I’m staggered to hear about the outstanding work undertaken by the legal community in our region. We know that Manchester is home to some of the best legal talent in the UK, and the awards are an opportunity to share and celebrate this work.”

The Small Law Firm of the Year category invited entrants to share their recent highlights, how new clients have given them a sense of pride and satisfaction, and what measures they take to manage staff wellbeing and ensure equality, diversity, and inclusion within their firm.

Bromleys Solicitors have been based in Tameside for over 175 years.
