An Ashton launderette has closed indefinitely after a fire broke out on the premises this morning, August 14.
Just before 7:30am, three fire engines were called to the Wash & Dry Launderette on Whitacre Road and were in attendance for around 90 minutes. It is currently believed that the fire started in the bin.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reels and a positive pressure ventilation fan to extinguish the fire."
In a post to Facebook, the business has now apologised for any inconvenience and announced that it will remain closed until further notice.
