Appeal for information after man dies following collision in Tameside

Officers are appealing for information after the death of a man following a collision on the M60 in Tameside.

The incident happened when two vehicles were waiting at traffic lights on the clockwise exit slip junction 24, Denton Island at around 10.25am on Tuesday, February 11.

Another vehicle continued driving down the slip road to the roundabout and collided with the rear of one of the cars, which then collided into another. All vehicles stopped and no arrests were made.

A couple of weeks later on February 27, the driver of the vehicle which initially crashed, the 55-year-old man, was found dead at his home.

Officers are currently assessing the crash and the exact cause of the man’s death in the days that followed.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police via 101 or Live Chat service at gmp.police.uk, quoting the motorway log number, which is  IML 2024957.

Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111
