A police incident has been declared on the M60 at Junction 23 at Ashton.
Police have closed off the scene with the M60 closed in both directions with diversions in place on the exit and entry slip roads to the motorway.
The North West Air Ambulance has landed near the scene, not far from the Evans Halshaw Ford garage on Manchester Road.
