Members of the 250th Manchester Cub Pack were rewarded with a host of Activity Award badges at their very final meeting of the year.
The presentation night was held at their scouti headquarters on Ellen Street, Droylsden.
During the evening, Andrew Morton, the District Commissioner, presented the cubs with their awards.
Badges and awards were handed out in a variety of categories, including ‘Entertainer’, ‘Nights Away 1 and 2’, ‘Gardener’, ‘Swimmer stage 1’, ‘Community Impact Awareness’, ‘Joining in’, ‘Road Safety’, ‘Home Help’ and ‘Local Knowledge’.
Andrew also invested four new Cub Scouts into the Pack.
Two Cub Scouts were awarded the Chief Scout Silver Award, which is the highest award that a Cub Scout can achieve while in the Cub Scout Section, before moving onto the Scout Section.
They also had to complete a number of Challenge Awards to achieve the Silver Award.
These included Disability Awareness Challenge, Skills Challenge, Outdoor Challenge, Personal Challenge, and Teamwork Challenge.
The two Cubs Amber and Cassidy said they enjoyed completing the awards and learned many skills that helped them to enjoy life.
Danielle Ives, Cub Scout Leader, said she was very proud of all the work they had done over the past year.
Andrew said the achievements of the cubs reflected well on the leaders and parents, who encouraged the cubs to achieve such high standards.
