Weekend Review: Derbyshire and Cheshire Cricket League

The Derbyshire and Cheshire Cricket League marked its 11th week of fixtures last weekend.

Readers Division One

Woodley maintained top spot with a 62 run win over Old Glossop after totalling 235-8.  Their lead was extended to 15 points as Dove Holes went down at Broadbottom.  Dinting piled up the runs, scoring 324-6, Ryan Nixon starring with 117, and they stand in third place, 10 points adrift of Dove Holes.

Division Two

Whaley Bridge, scoring at seven an over, ran up 311-6, with Jake Higginbotham, (137), leading the way. Charlesworth had no answer, falling for 52, as Whaley Bridge stayed at the top of the table. Pott Shrigley remain in second place, 13 points ahead of Stalybridge as both teams recorded easy wins.

With Woodley losing the chasing pack took the opportunity to leapfrog them.  Newton top the table with Hazel Grove in second spot

Tintwistle lead the way despite going down at Pott Shrigley.  New Mills closed the gap with a five wicket win at home to Dinting.
