Stalybridge Celtic have announced that club captain Liam Tongue will take temporary charge of the first team following the dismissal of James Kinsey on Thursday afternoon.

The 27-year-old midfielder will take over on an interim basis, but will remain part of the playing squad whilst serving as manager.

He is set to be assisted by ex-Celtic players Greg Wilkinson and Phil Marsh, as well as current defender Aaron Chalmers.

Tongue has previous experience in the world of management, having served as a player manager on two occasions during his time at Guiseley last season.
