Hyde United have confirmed the signing of talented midfielder Jake Dunwoody.
The 27-year-old spent his early years with Manchester City’s academy, before joining Stoke City aged 16, making over 50 appearances for their Under 23 side between 2016 and 2020.
The Glossop born playmaker also had a short loan spell with Curzon Ashton in 2018, where he made 16 appearances.
The former Northern Ireland Under 21 international then made a handful of appearances for Derry City before a move to the Finnish top flight.
He has spent the past four years playing in Finland, making just short of 100 appearances for IFK Helsingfors, SJK Sejnajoki and most recently AC Oula.
Dunwoody made his Tigers debut over the weekend, coming on as a substitute in a 1-0 win over Matlock Town in the FA Cup Third Qualifying Round.
Tuesday night saw Ashton United pass up on the chance to set up an all-Ashton Manchester Premier Cup Final, with Tameside neighbours Droylsden picking up a shock semi-final victory at Hurst Cross.
Following their loss at home to Real Madrid last week, knocking them out of the Champions League, Manchester City faced arguably a tougher test against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup Final on Sunday.
