A Tameside teen has reached a remarkable running milestone.
Harry Bousie, 14, ended 2025 in style by becoming the first Tameside individual to amass 250 junior parkruns.
Only a handful of runners aged 4-14 across the UK can say they have done the same, and there are only around 150 believed to have done so worldwide.
The landmark moment came on December 28th when Harry ran in the weekly Hyde junior parkrun, a 2K event held every Sunday at 9am.
To celebrate the stellar achievement, the Audenshaw teen was presented with an award by Mayor of Tameside Cllr Shibley Alam on his 251st parkrun earlier this month.
As well as running in Hyde’s 2K parkrun, Harry has also featured over 50 times in the longer 5K format, which takes place nationwide every Saturday.
Following his triumph, the Audenshaw Boys student commented:
“I love junior parkrun because it’s so inclusive, supportive, friendly and fun. I feel very proud to be the first junior in the area to reach the 250 milestone. I’d also like to say a big thank you to all the volunteers who make junior parkrun possible.”
Event director James Hood added:
“It is amazing to have our first 250th milestone reached by one of our regular junior parkrunners. It is an incredible achievement and one that Harry should be hugely proud of.”
The Hyde junior park run is free to enter, and run entirely by volunteers.
