Tameside clubs discover their FA Cup opponents

The three Tameside clubs still involved in this year's FA Cup have discovered their Third Qualifying Round fate.

Ashton United's reward for dumping out National League North high flyers Scarborough Athletic is a trip to NPL West side Runcorn Linnets.

Elsewhere, after overcoming Hebburn Town of the NPL Premier, their Ashton counterparts Curzon Ashton will travel to fellow National League side Chester, who edged past Stalybridge Celtic in the previous round.

The sides met at the Deva Stadium earlier this season, playing out a 1-1 draw in the league.

Finally, after seeing off fellow NPL Premier side Whitby Town, Hyde United have set up a home tie with NPL East club Matlock Town.

All ties are set to take place on Saturday, September 27.
