Successful British Championships for Abbie Wood

Buxton swimmer Abbie Wood has had an incredibly successful British Championships in Sheffield, leading the way across the Individual 200m Medley.

24-year-old Wood was the fastest qualifier in her heat, with a comfortable looking performance.

She was closely followed by Leah Schlosshan, a talented swimmer who won the European Junior title last year.

Olympic swimmer Abbie aimed to achieve some successful performances at the recent championships, ensuring her place at upcoming meets.

In fact, the 200m was an important race for a range of our British Olympians, including Duncan Scott and Tom Dean, who also aimed for qualifying times.

After a great week at the British Championships, Abbie left with a handful of personal best times, as well as a World Championship qualifying time.

This sets her up for an exciting 2023, diving through various prestigious competitions.

Looking forward to 2024, Abbie will be looking to return to the Olympic stage in Paris, where the best of the best will face off in the pool.

Until then, she will continue to train and perform to her best ability.
