Stalybridge Snooker League to re-start at the end of September

The Stalybridge Snooker League has, like many others, been closed since early last year due to Covid 19.

The 2019/20 league season closed early and a decision was made not to play the 2020/2021 season.

It was recently decided that with everything slowly opening up and everyone having their vaccinations, the possibility of restarting the league for 2021/2022 season should be explored. The necessary AGM to start the season has been held and the handicaps for the existing players are also ready.

League Secretary Ian Hopton said: "As League Secretary, I have already asked the various team captains to approach their home venues and their current players. Each venue will have different criteria for playing cards and snooker so it is important we know their specific requirements. The teams will also know if they have enough players to start the league.

"Hopefully our league season will be able to start at the end of September and if anyone is interested in finding out more about what we do please contact me by email at ian.stalybridgesnooker@outlook.com. Our league website is www.stalybridgesnooker.co.uk."
