Stalybridge Host Local Derby At Bower Fold

Stalybridge Celtic are in local derby action this weekend as they host FC United Of Manchester at Bower Fold.

The two teams are only separated by a point going into the game and a win will go a long way for both teams as they hope to climb up the table.

Stalybridge come into the fixture on the back of a very impressive 1-0 win away at Witton Albion which also meant that The Celts have won their last two league fixtures. It has capped off a relatively good start for Stalybridge who sit in 11th place which is an improvement after only surviving relegation on the last day of last season. Craig Hobson has been vital to Stalybridge’s form this season with the striker netting four goals in the league so far this season.

FC United struggled at the beginning of the season following their relegation from the National League North. The club have stabilised results since, but they come into this weekend’s game on the back of a 2-0 loss away at South Shields.

The two clubs have played each other eight times in their histories and the results have seen Stalybridge winning three, FC United winning three and there have also been two draws between them.
