Stalybridge Celtic Foundation receives financial boost through Jigsaw Homes

The Stalybridge Celtic Foundation has been given a major boost in the form of a financial grant from the Jigsaw Foundation.

A sum of £26,197.50 will help to deliver projects within the Hague, Ridgehill and Central Stalybridge neighbourhoods.

The project 'Making A Difference' will help improve the health and lifestyles of people in isolation and of people with learning disabilities and mental health issues.

The Funding will enable the Foundation to provide football based community projects throughout the year for all aspects of the community. This will include men, women and children of all ages.

Activities will include Walking Football, Adult PAN-Disability sessions, School Holiday Soccer Courses, a 'Get Fit Challenge' (NHS Based), Sporting Memories group for people with dementia and Match Day visits for local children.

Community Development Officer, Mike Smith, heaped praise on Jigsaw and said: "I'd like to say a massive thank you to Linda Whyatt and everyone at Jigsaw Homes for awarding us the grant to enable us to continue making an impact in our local community, we look forward to getting our new activities up and running with new people and as the title says, make a difference!'.
