Speedway of Nations rescheduled for October

The 2020 Monster Energy FIM Speedway of Nations has undergone a timetable revision in the wake of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic that sees the finals in Manchester moved to October.

Acting on government health directives, the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) and BSI Speedway have taken the decision to revise the entire schedule for the series.

Under the revised schedule, both semi-finals will now take place on consecutive days at Daugavpils, Latvia on September 25-26. The first semi-final moves from its original location of Landshut, Germany.

The 2020 Monster Energy FIM Speedway Of Nations Final is now scheduled to take place at Belle Vue’s National Speedway Stadium in Manchester on Saturday, October 24 and Sunday, October 25.

These decisions were made after careful consideration and consultation between the FIM, BSI Speedway and local organisers as the health and safety of all involved in the events remains priority.

On the revised dates and times, Belle Vue CEO Adrian Smith said: “We are of course delighted to be able to welcome the Speedway of Nations to Manchester this year, even if a little later than planned.

“The ongoing coronavirus situation has resulted in a rather unconventional start to the season and it was deemed necessary, for the safety of all involved, to postpone the original staging.

“We are confident this will be an exceptional weekend of speedway at Belle Vue, and we would like to place on record our thanks to Manchester City Council for their help in facilitating this switch.

“We hope to see as many people as possible join us at the National Speedway Stadium for this fantastic event.

“And indeed, we hope people will continue their support of Belle Vue Speedway as soon as we can commence the British Speedway Season.”

Event times:

Speedway of Nations Final:

Saturday, October 24, 4.30pm CET start (3.30pm local time)

Sunday October 25, 4.30pm CET start (3.30pm local time)

Tickets booked for the original date will be valid for the rescheduled event.
