Scarborough manager Kelly claims victory on his return to Hyde

BetVictor Premier Division: Hyde United 0-1 Scarborough Athletic

Only a wonder strike from Kieran Glynn could separate the two sides as Scarborough came out on top after a 1-0 victory over Hyde United, the 30 yard hit sealing all three points.

The game as a whole was scrappy with limited chances for either side throughout, as the game became spoilt with the wind, injuries and long stoppages.

The best chance of the first half came to the visitors when Walshaw found room on the left of the area but his shot across goal evaded the far post.

Hyde came out in the second half lively and almost forced an opener as Headley, Pratt and Tongue all saw their chances failing to find the back of the net.

With the game being scrappy it was always going to take something special for either side to take the points and up stepped Glynn as the ball fell to him from 30 yards and his strike crashed off the underside of the bar and found the back of the net.

The Tigers thought they had found an equaliser near the end but the goal was disallowed in controversial circumstances. McCombe bundled the ball home but the whistle had already been blown for a foul on keeper Taylor, although it looked like he had been taken out by a teammate. The visitors held out for a hard thought win.
