Sala victorious in Tameside futsal derby

Two Tameside Futsal Clubs went head to head over the weekend in the National Futsal League Tier 3.

Sala Futsal Club’s newly formed mens team took on Inspired Futsal in the battle of Tameside on the October 19. 

Both teams are in the National Futsal League Tier 3 North and newcomers Sala were looking to take the honours in the Tameside Futsal Derby.

The game played at Ordsall Leisure centre was an absolute cracker with Inspired taking an early 2-0 lead, before Sala came back to equalise through Fahid Sulemane and Oscar Lucas.

Inspired went again to take a 4-3 lead into half time. 

In the second half Inspired Futsal stretched their lead further to go 6-3 with ten minutes left.

Sala hadn’t finished though with a rout of goals late on the finish the tie on top.

Goals from Oscar Lucas (3), Fahid Sulemane  (2) Benji Jenkinson, Ash Jones and Alex Jones helped them secure the first ever Tameside Futsal Derby.

Sala also went top of the NFL T3 North Table.

Following the win, Sala Chairman Neil Lucas commented: 

“Today was a fantastic advert for the game with two local Tameside teams going head to head, with the Sala boys showing great resistance to come back for the win. This helps us to go top of the table”.
