Sala Futsal Club crowned as National Champions

A Tameside based Futsal Club have become National Champions.

Sala Futsal Club under 13/14s girls have been crowned National u14s champions in the 2024 England Futsal FA Youth Futsal cup.

The Tameside based club who train at St Damian's RC College in Ashton Under Lyne & Wright Robinson College Gorton reached the National Finals after winning the Northern Regional Finals in April with teams from the north as far away as Newcastle & Liverpool, before that they won the north west round in Manchester.

The National Finals were held at Repton School Derby on the 1st June.

Where there were first 2 semi final games featuring the winners from the Four regions of England. All games were live on TNT Sports.

Sala were drawn in the Semi finals against Worthing, and won 1-0.

The girls then played in an epic final against City of Peterborough Futsal where they won went 2-0 up at half time. Peterborough then pulled one back early in the second half, the Sala girls then extended their lead to win 3-1 to be crowned Girls National Youth Futsal Champions.

This was this squads third time at the finals with a second place sport in 2022 & a third sport in 2023 in younger age groups.

Sala Futsal Club run weekly training sessions in Tameside & Gorton as well as running teams that play in local leagues and competitions. 

Sala were also National u16s boys Champions in 2022 and National u16s girls champions in 2023.
