Sabres start the season strongly

Simmondley Sabres Netball Club started their season with a bang on Sunday with a 7-1 win over Reddish Vale.

The team, which competes in the Reddish Netball League, rose to the occasion,  with an emphatic victory.

The not for profit community club is England Netball affiliated and ran by qualified coaches and DBS checked volunteers.

Following the win, the clubs’ head coach Kristy Todd said:

“What a win for the Sabres! First game of the season and they showed they mean business.

“We couldn’t be prouder of them for their effort and determination.

“There were some great goals scored by Emily (3), Brooke (2) and Betsy (2).

“The fluidity of play was impressive and this really helped build towards the goal.

“We are still actively recruiting new club members and look forward to meeting new players.”
