Russell Scott Pupils Put In Fine Displays To Take Quadkids Crown

East Cheshire Harriers Running Club has played host to the Primary Quadkids competition over the past few days.

Pupils have been battling it out in running, jumping and throwing events.

The format encourages participation for all ages and abilities and has been widely used throughout the UK for many years.

It’s been a week to remember for Russell Scott Primary School pupils, based in Denton, as both the year 3/4 team, and the year 5/6 team won their respective events and will now go on to represent the borough at the Greater Manchester School Games later this year.

The achievement of the the pupils and the dedication of coach Darran Gorman were hailed by headteacher Steve Marsland on Twitter. He said: “Amazing mindset across school, year 3 and 4 joining their older team mates in 5 and 6 in winning their Quad Kids competitions. Well done Darran.

“There’s sport or game for everyone to take part in, enjoy and to compete in. Opportunities supported brilliantly by

the Tameside School Sports Partnership.

Next week pupils will be taking part in the Tameside Secondary Athletics competition held in Longford Park, Stretford.

There will also be a football festival at Curzon Ashton to coincide with and to celebrate the Women’s European Championship.

You can watch our video highlights of the event on our website, www.questmedianetwork.co.uk.
